"University of Denver Head Strength and Contitioning Coach Michael Bridges sits inside the new Pat Bowlen Training Center at the Ritchie Center in Denver, Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Bridges, who was previously an assistant coach, is entering his first year as the program leader for DU's more than 300 student athletes."
I was at the University of Denver again today for a self driven assignment. Just like my previous post, as soon as I saw this location I knew that I wanted to make a portrait inside. The only catch was to find a subject willing and available for the project.
When Michael took over the program after longtime coach Mike Sanders left to take a position with the military I knew I had something to work with. A new coach in a brand new facility made for a great concept, I thought.
The new training facility is built underneath the also new soccer stadium and features a 65-yard turf runway and 12 Olympic lifting stations.
Michael was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I made sure to work quickly as to not take too much of his time. Organizing programs for 17 varsity sports can't be easy but it looks as though he's keeping Denver's highly competitive teams in top shape.
