"Clark Smith plays the saxophone on Articulated Wall in the Denver design district, Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Smith, a 2010 University of Denver graduate, is headed to France to play with his quartet for the summer."
French fries? Jenga? That weird yellow thing?
Denver residents may not know who created the 85-foot tall sculpture visible from I-25 but I'm sure they'll have an interesting name for it.
As part of an ongoing portrait series with DU student and alumni musicians I worked with Clark on Tuesday night. He was running a bit late but we were still able to catch a little bit of the late evening light.
I've been looking forward to shooting at this location for a while because I love using color and graphical elements in my portraits, especially for this particular series.
I used the 3D look quite a bit but I also shot a more two-dimensional image that I liked.
It will be tough choosing a final image for the series but I'm going to wait until I'm done with the project to see what works well together.
