"Centauri's Vincent Chacon (second from left) celebrates his win over Lamar's Abel Ortega (not pictured) with his family following the Class 3A 285-pound championship at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010. The win marked the second state title of Chacon's career."
It's a great feeling to witness an athlete achieving the ultimate success and it's even better to photograph.
It wasn't until tonight when I felt like I was making images that had every piece of the puzzle. On the first two nights, it seemed like everything I shot was an almost.
I firmly believe that great sports photographs are a combination of skill, preparedness and often a lot of luck. Whether it be lens selection or what match to focus in on (I was shooting two mats at the same time) things just fell into place for me this evening.
What do you think?
