Denver sports photographers | Regis Jesuit vs Douglas County

"Regis Raiders' Ross Heath (8) sacks Douglas County Huskies' quarterback Aaron Rosipajla (11) in the second half at Douglas County Stadium in Castle Rock, Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. Regis defeated DC 30-14."
"Regis wide receiver Connor McKay (11) stiff-arms Douglas County defensive back Corey Iida (20) on his way to a first down in the first half at Douglas County Stadium in Castle Rock, Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. Regis defeated DC 30-14."
"Regis running back Jordan Jungers (20) breaks through the Douglas County defense for a first down at Douglas County Stadium in Castle Rock, Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. Regis defeated DC 30-14."
"Regis wide receiver Connor McKay (11) avoids a diving tackle attempt by Douglas County defensive back Adam Ruff (21) in the first half at Douglas County Stadium in Castle Rock, Friday, Oct. 8, 2010. Regis defeated DC 30-14."

Still perfect.

Once again the Raiders took the early lead, capitalized on their solid defense and never looked back on DCHS' homecoming night. At the end of the game, Regis students chanted "Enjoy the dance," which I thought was fitting because they definitely crashed the party.

At this point in the season I'm impressed with the Raiders talent and see them as a top title contender. The Denver Post thinks so as well because they have them ranked #2 in the state behind powerhouse Mullen who has only given up 14 points all season while putting up 210 in just six games.

This week wasn't all about the big boys as I also shot the freshman game before the varsity. There may be better, faster action at the varsity level but there is one thing they don't have, great light. All the varsity games start at 7PM and are under the lights so it was a warm welcome to get the chance to shoot some football in prime light. I made a few nice frames from the freshman game HERE and HERE.
