Dreams came true this week.Friday night at the volunteer appreciation dinner host Gary Howard told a few great stories but one stood out among them all. In the locker room after the big game one of the kids, Michael, came up to him and said, "coach, this was the greatest week of my life."
That nearly brought tears to my eyes.
I'm still struggling to hold them back as I write this.
I truly love working with kids but even more helping underprivileged kids accomplish goals they never knew were possible and that's exactly what we did this week. Rewarding doesn't even begin to explain how I feel about this experience.
I can't wait until next year.
